How to Add Equipment to a Recipe

To add equipment to a recipe, you must first enable the Equipment section while editing the Recipe Card.

1. Select the Recipe Card block.

2. In the right sidebar, open Equipment Settings.

3. Enable the Display Equipment toggle.

Once enabled, a dedicated Equipment section will appear inside the recipe card.

You can also set the location and the layout from the block settings.

Add Equipment Items To A Recipe

After enabling the Equipment section, you can add equipment in two ways: new empty items (created from scratch) or existing items from your inventory.

Add A New Empty Equipment Item

Use this option when you want to create a brand-new equipment entry.

1. In the Equipment section, click Add equipment.

Note: For the first items, simply click on the placeholders to upload an image or add text to the corresponding fields.

2. Select Add new empty equipment item.

3. Click to fill in the equipment fields:

• Choose equipment image…
• Enter equipment name…
• Enter equipment link… (optional) — great for affiliate links

4. Repeat the steps above to add more equipment items.

Add An Existing Equipment Item From Inventory

Use this option when you want to reuse an item you previously saved to your Equipment Inventory. This avoids duplicating equipment entries and keeps your recipes consistent.

1. In the Equipment section, click Add equipment.

2. Select Add existing equipment item from inventory.

3. Choose the equipment item you want to insert.

4. The item will be added to the recipe with its saved image, name, and link.

Each equipment item includes quick action icons for managing the list:

• Up / Down arrows — Moves the equipment item higher or lower in the list.
• Save (+ icon) — Adds the equipment to the inventory.
• Delete (trash bin icon) — Removes the equipment item from the recipe.
• Leftwards arrow — Inserts equipment from the inventory.

Enable Equipment For All Recipes

If you want the Equipment section to be available by default in all recipes, you can enable it globally from the plugin settings.

1. Go to Recipe Cards → Settings → General.

2. Open the Equipment Settings tab and check the Equipment Section field.

You can also set a global equipment location and layout here.

3. Save the settings by clicking Save Changes.

Once enabled, the Equipment section will be automatically available in all new recipes.

Manage Equipment Inventory

You can manage all saved equipment items from the Recipe Cards → Manage Equipment page.

From there, you can:

• add new equipment items,
• edit existing equipment items,
• update images or links,
• remove items if no longer needed.

Any changes made to an equipment item in the inventory will be automatically reflected everywhere that item is used.
