Getting started

How to Enable Cook Mode

Cook Mode prevents your device’s screen from going to sleep while you’re following a recipe. This is especially useful when cooking, as it keeps the recipe directions visible without requiring repeated interaction with the screen.

Cook Mode can be enabled globally for all recipes.

How Cook Mode Works

When Cook Mode is available, visitors can activate it on the front end while viewing a recipe. Once enabled, the device screen remains active for as long as the recipe is open.

Cook Mode does not affect recipe content or structured data. It only controls screen behavior during recipe viewing.

Enable Cook Mode for All Recipes

Cook Mode is enabled globally from the plugin settings.

1. Go to Recipe Cards → Settings → Miscellaneous.

2. Check the Enable Cook Mode option.

3. Save the settings by clicking Save Changes.

Once enabled, Cook Mode will be available on all newly created recipes.

    Battery Usage Consideration

Keeping the screen active for extended periods may increase battery consumption, especially on mobile devices. This is expected behavior when Cook Mode is enabled.

Visitors can choose whether to activate Cook Mode based on their device and preferences.
