Recipe Card Blocks PRO includes a Recipe Index feature that allows you to display a list or grid of recipes on any page of your website. A Recipe Index is commonly used for recipe archive pages, category hubs, or landing pages that showcase multiple recipes.
The Recipe Index is available as:
When added to a page, the Recipe Index automatically displays blog posts that contain recipe cards.
The index does not list recipes from the internal Recipe Cards directory on its own. Instead, it shows recipes that are:
This ensures that each recipe in the index links to a real post on your website.
To create a recipe index using the block editor:
1. Open the page where you want to display the recipe index.
2. Insert the Recipe Index block.
3. Configure the layout and display options from the right sidebar.
4. Save or publish the page.
Once added, the block will display your most recent posts that include recipe cards.
If youโre using Elementor:
1. Open the page with Elementor.
2. Add the Recipe Index widget to your layout.
3. Adjust the grid and display options in the widget settings.
4. Save or update the page.
The widget behaves the same way as the block editor version and displays posts that contain recipe cards.
Both the block and the Elementor widget include multiple options that allow you to customize:
All layout options are available in the right sidebar (block editor) or widget settings (Elementor).
If some recipes are not appearing in the Recipe Index, it usually means the recipe is not linked to a blog post.
The Recipe Index only displays recipes that have a parent post assigned.
To fix missing recipes:
1. Go to Recipe Cards โ All Recipes.
2. Open the recipe that does not appear in the index.
3. Locate the Recipe Card Post Details section.
4. Search for and select the blog post where the recipe is inserted.
5. Save the recipe.
Once the parent post is assigned, the recipe will appear automatically in the Recipe Index.
