Recipe Card Blocks PRO version 6.1 is here with improvements to how readers interact with your recipes. This update focuses on three key areas: giving you complete control over user ratings, making printed recipes more flexible and professional, and streamlining your daily workflow.

Flexible User Rating Modes
The biggest addition in this release is the new User Ratings Modal system, which gives you two new ways to handle recipe ratings on your site.
- Modal Popup
When readers click to rate, a customizable pop-up appears, and it’s fully customizable to match your site’s design. You can configure the modal title, button text, button color, and the thank you message that appears after submission. - Jump to Comments
Direct readers to your comments section when they click the rating stars. If comments aren’t available, the modal opens instead. This option works well if you want to encourage fuller feedback rather than just star ratings.
The new options address a common issue: accidental or low-effort ratings that donโt reflect actual reader experience. With instant ratings, visitors can click stars by mistake or leave ratings without any thought. These changes help you collect more intentional, trustworthy ratings, which matter both for your own understanding of recipe performance and for potential future requirements from search engines around verified reviews.
Force Comments on Low Ratings
Here’s where things get interesting. You can now require readers to leave a comment when they give low ratings to your recipes. Choose your threshold: require comments for 1-star ratings only, 2-stars or below, 3-stars or below, or 4-stars or below.
This feature helps you understand what went wrong. Did the recipe not work? Was something unclear? Having that context turns a disappointing low rating into actionable feedback you can use to improve the recipe.
Professional Print Pages
Printing has always been a core feature of recipe plugins, and version 6.1 makes the experience better for your readers.
- Text Size Controls. Readers can now choose between small, medium, and large text sizes directly on the print preview page.
- Print Button on Preview. There’s now a dedicated Print button on the print preview page itself. One less step for your readers.
- Customizable Print Credit. Add a credit line at the bottom of printed recipes using placeholders. This serves two purposes: it’s proper attribution when readers share printed recipes, and it creates a path back to your site if someone discovers a printed recipe secondhand.
Workflow Efficiency Updates
Two smaller features that save time when you’re managing dozens or hundreds of recipes.
- Clone Recipe Feature. Duplicate any recipe with a single click from your Recipes list. The cloned recipe appears as a draft, ready for you to modify.
- Settings Search. Recipe Card Blocks PRO has extensive settings across multiple tabs. The new search functionality lets you type what you’re looking for and instantly jump to the right setting.
Enhanced Manage Ratings Page
The ratings overview now includes statistics: total ratings, approved ratings, pending ratings, and average rating score. There’s a 7-day activity chart, rating distribution breakdown, and lists of your top-rated and most-voted recipes with time filters (Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, This Month, This Year, or All Time). Filtering and sorting options have been improved.
Bug Fixes
Version 6.1 also addresses several issues:
- Fractions on print pages now update correctly when readers adjust serving sizes
- Recipe revision counts in the editor now display accurate numbers
- Print page URLs no longer change unexpectedly
