Recipe Card Blocks PRO 7.0.0 Is Here: Faster Performance, New Styles & More

Last updated on by 0 comments

We’re very happy to announce Recipe Card Blocks 7.0.0.

This is one of the most important updates we’ve shipped recently, focused on the areas that matter most to food creators:

  • Better design quality
  • Better front-end speed
  • Better editor experience

If you publish recipes regularly, you should feel this update immediately in both your workflow and your page performance.

New Base Style for Modern Recipe Layouts

Version 7.0.0 introduces a brand-new Base style.

The goal was to provide a clean, flexible, modern starting point that looks great out of the box and is easy to adapt to different brand styles.
We refined spacing, typography, hierarchy, metadata presentation, and footer layout to create a more balanced recipe card experience.

The Base style also received dedicated improvements for CTA footer behavior and color integration so it feels visually coherent with the rest of the card.

Major Styling Improvements Across Existing Skins

This release is not only about a new style. We also improved most existing skins with many visual and structural refinements.

Highlights include:

  • Better consistency between editor and front-end rendering
  • More reliable color behavior in advanced skins
  • Better handling of footer CTA sections

We also did extensive CSS cleanup and structural improvements to reduce style conflicts and improve long-term maintainability.

We also improved the recipe card footer CTA area across most styles.

What changed:

  • Improved visual grouping and consistency
  • Better color behavior for icon/text/background combinations

These updates make CTA sections look more intentional and integrated instead of feeling like separate fragments at the bottom of the card.

Performance Improvements: Smarter CSS/JS Loading and Serving

One of the biggest goals for 7.0.0 was reducing unnecessary front-end weight.

We improved the plugin’s asset loading strategy to avoid serving code that is not needed on a given page.
This includes better conditional logic for when recipe-related styles and scripts should load.

In practical terms, many sites will now see:

  • Less unused CSS on recipe pages
  • Fewer unnecessary assets loaded globally
  • Better page speed and lighter front-end rendering

For recipe-focused sites with multiple blocks and templates, these optimizations can make a real difference.

Better Block Editor Experience

We made multiple UI and workflow improvements in the recipe block to simplify recipe creation and editing.

That includes improvements to how users add and manage key recipe details directly from the block UI, such as:

  • Course
  • Cuisine
  • Other recipe metadata

The overall editing flow is now clearer, faster, and easier for both new and existing users.

Legacy Block Disabled by Default

Over time, the plugin accumulated legacy standalone blocks that many users no longer need in everyday workflows.

In 7.0.0, some legacy/optional blocks are now disabled by default, helping keep the editor focused on the blocks most users actually use.

Those blocks can now be enabled in the plugin settings.

Additional Fixes and Polish in 7.0.0

Beyond the major features above, this release includes many quality improvements and bug fixes across the plugin, including areas like:

  • Editor/front-end parity fixes for several skins
  • Better defaults and rendering behavior in special layout cases
  • Ongoing UI polish for a cleaner overall experience
  • Design quality with a new Base style and broad skin refinements
  • Performance with smarter asset loading/serving
  • Usability with better block editor flow and cleaner defaults

If your site publishes recipes at scale, this update is built to help you ship content faster while keeping pages lighter and more polished.
