A cooking assistant on every recipe card

Your readers have questions while they cook, and today they leave the page to search for answers. Recipe Card Blocks adds an Ask about this recipe button to every recipe card. It opens a chat that already knows the recipe on the page: its ingredients, steps, times, servings and nutrition.

1

Install Yamidoo in one click

Open Recipe Cards → Settings → AI Assistant and click Install & activate. Recipe Card Blocks installs the free Yamidoo plugin from WordPress.org and switches on the recipe card button for you.

2

Connect your site

Click Connect in the Yamidoo settings. It creates your free account and learns your recipes and posts, so it can also point readers to your other recipes. It takes about a minute, and no credit card is needed.

Readers ask, right on the recipe

The Ask about this recipe button appears above the ingredients. One click opens the chat with the recipe already in context, so readers can ask about substitutions, scaling or timing and keep cooking.

Real questions, answered from the recipe

These are real answers from the assistant on our demo recipe, Lemon Balsamic Chicken with Rosemary Sauce. Amounts come from the recipe card, and anything the recipe does not cover is marked as general advice.

How would I halve it for 2 people?

Halved for 2 servings:

  • 2 chicken breasts (boneless, skinless)
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
  • salt, pepper to taste

Steps and times stay the same. Just use a smaller skillet so the sauce still reduces properly.

I don’t have honey. What can I use instead?

You can swap the 2 tbsp honey in the marinade for:

  • 2 tbsp maple syrup: similar sweetness, slightly different flavor note but works well
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (dissolved into the liquid): a bit less glossy but similar sweetness and caramelization

Both are untested for this specific recipe, but honey’s main role here is sweetness to balance the tangy balsamic and lemon, so either swap should work fine.

Can I bake the chicken in the oven instead of using a skillet?

The recipe as written only gives skillet instructions, so I can’t quote exact oven times for this recipe.

As general guidance (untested for this dish): sear the chicken briefly in the skillet for color, then finish in an oven at 375°F (190°C) for roughly 15–20 minutes, until cooked through (165°F/74°C). Make the sauce in the skillet afterward, as directed.

Why food bloggers add it

Every answer keeps the reader on your recipe instead of sending them back to Google. And every question tells you what your readers want to know.

Knows the recipe on the page

The assistant reads the recipe card the reader is on: ingredients, steps, times, servings and nutrition. There is nothing to copy or re-enter, and edits to a recipe count from the next question.

Scaling and conversions

Two servings or twelve, every ingredient is recomputed from your recipe’s yield. Cups to grams and °F to °C work too, with a note when pan sizes or times should change.

Substitutions with amounts

“Out of buttermilk?” gets a swap with a quantity and what changes in taste or texture. When a swap is untested for your recipe, the answer says so.

See what readers ask

Every question is saved in your Yamidoo dashboard. The questions your recipes do not answer yet are your next posts, FAQs and recipe notes.

You can step in any time

When a reader asks for a person, the conversation comes to you. Reply live from the Yamidoo inbox, and the reader sees your answer in the same chat.

Answers in your reader’s language

The assistant can answer in the language your reader asks in, whatever language your recipe is written in. The assistant also suggests your other recipes when they fit, like a side or a sauce.

Questions and answers

Do I need Recipe Card Blocks PRO?

No. The Ask about this recipe button and the one-click setup are in both Recipe Card Blocks Free (3.6.0 or newer) and PRO (7.3.0 or newer).

What is Yamidoo, and what does it cost?

Yamidoo is the AI chat that answers your readers. It is made by WPZOOM, the team behind Recipe Card Blocks. The free plan includes 50 conversations a month and up to 100 indexed pages, with no credit card. Paid plans start at $29 a month for busier blogs.

Where do the answers come from?

From the recipe on the page first, then from the rest of your site. The assistant quotes your quantities, times and temperatures exactly. When a question goes beyond the recipe, like an oven method for a skillet recipe, the answer is marked as general advice.

Will it slow down my recipe pages?

The chat loads after your page, so it does not hold up your content. The button stays hidden until the chat is ready, so readers never see a button that does nothing.

Does it work with my theme and other recipe plugins?

It works with any WordPress theme. The assistant reads standard recipe structured data, so it also understands recipes made with other plugins. The Ask about this recipe button is added to Recipe Card Blocks cards.

Can I turn the button off?

Yes. Switch off Show “Ask about this recipe” in Recipe Cards → Settings → AI Assistant. The chat stays available in the corner of your site.
